Douglas College is renowned for providing an exceptional undergraduate educational experience in British Columbia. It uniquely combines the academic rigor of a university with the practical, employer-ready skills of a college. It's inspiring to see how our contributions help bridge the gap between universities and colleges, empowering students to succeed.

One of the unique aspects of Habitat for Humanity's approach is that houses are sold to Habitat families with no down payment and are financed through affordable, no-interest mortgages. Families also contribute 500 hours of their labor, known as "sweat equity," into building their homes and those of other families. This model not only provides housing but also empowers families to become homeowners and invest in their communities.

Focusing on building strong, dependable relationships with local youth, ACCESS Youth aims to empower them to achieve their full potential. By providing support and guidance, the ACCESS Youth team helps these young individuals navigate their challenges before they escalate into crises. The organization firmly believes that these relationships serve as the most effective form of prevention.

Since its inception, Tri-Cities Friends of Refugees has received an outpouring of offers from individuals eager to assist newcomers in settling into their new homes. 

Through this organization, we can play a role in helping these newcomers integrate into our community and rebuild their lives.

The organization relies on charitable donations from the community to continue its important work. Through partnerships with leaders in the field of family violence, Tri-City Transitions has developed a unique response to support victims. They provide a safe, secure place for women and children to rest, rejuvenate, and rebuild their lives, serving over 1500 individuals each year.

Tri-City Transitions has shown resilience in meeting challenges and evolving to meet community needs. They have implemented sustainable business practices and continually seek opportunities to address program and service needs while building staff capacity. As a contributor,  we're honored to support an organization that makes such a meaningful impact in our community.

Students at these schools identify "Hunger Heroes" in their communities who will champion the cause. They also dedicate hundreds of volunteer hours each year to pack Backpack Buddies, which are then distributed to their peers in need. It's inspiring to see young people leading the charge in caring for their peers and making a difference in their communities.
