Douglas College Foundation

As a longstanding donor to the Douglas College Foundation, we are proud to support students since 1985. Our contributions help up to 2,000 students yearly explore new passions, discover strengths, and pursue their dreams. Our very own Douglas College alumni Paul MacDonald, established a bursary in 2016, awarding $1,000 to 2 students annually to provide financial aid during their studies. The bursary supports students in financial need enrolled in programs focusing on working with at-risk youth, reflecting Paul's passion for supporting this demographic.

Habitat for Humanity

We proudly support an inclusive, non-profit organization that works tirelessly to provide safe, decent, and affordable housing to families in need. Through volunteer labor and donations of money and materials, Habitat collaborates with these families to build homes.

One of the unique aspects of Habitat for Humanity's approach is that houses are sold to Habitat families with no down payment and are financed through affordable, no-interest mortgages. Families also contribute 500 hours of their labor, known as "sweat equity," into building their homes and those of other families. This model not only provides housing but also empowers families to become homeowners and invest in their communities.

Backpack Buddies

We're proud to support an organization that addresses the weekend hunger gap for children in Metro Vancouver. Backpack Buddies partners with "buddy schools," where students take an active role in raising awareness about childhood hunger.

Students at these schools identify "Hunger Heroes" in their communities who will champion the cause. They also dedicate hundreds of volunteer hours each year to pack Backpack Buddies, which are then distributed to their peers in need. It's inspiring to see young people leading the charge in caring for their peers and making a difference in their communities.
